With Yogalimbs, we go back to the basics of yoga. Pain relief and prevention, both physically and mentally. Instead of forcing you into a pose, we adapt the pose to you, so yoga works for you.

 

You can choose a weekly group class with a maximum of 4 people or a private class. You can register for one of the classes for free via the class schedule.

 

If you're experiencing pain or other physical or mental discomfort, we'll first have a conversation so we can alleviate and even eliminate the pain with yogatherapy.

Who am I?

 

I am Maarten, an export product from Limburg. ​

 

In 2017 I discovered yoga during a scuba diving course in Koh Tao, Thailand. 20m under water I realized the unexpected link between the two:  ​

 

conscious breathing.

 

The calmer you breathe, the longer you can enjoy all the beautiful corals. ​

 

Since then I have followed 700 hours of yoga training in India, the US and Nepal (Hatha, Ashtanga & Vinyasa).

I further specialized in pregnancy yoga (50 hours at New Nature) and am currently following a specialization to become a yogatherapist (625 hours at The Yoga Therapy Institute). ​

 

In this way I want to pass on yoga to everyone who is interested in this age-old exercise. In order to distance ourself from the 'film of our lives'.

Sivananda yoga

Sivananda yoga ​

 

In a homely atmosphere and in a limited group, you will be introduced to the world of Sivananda yoga with a brief explanation of why it has such a positive effect on our body and mind system and this does not have to be 'out there' at all. Try denying that we have a body and a spirit in times when many people lose touch due to an overabundance of impulses. ​ ​ ​ ​

Where did it came from?

 

This style of yoga is derived from Swami Sivananda Saraswati (1887-1963), one of the propagators of Hatha yoga. Here the emphasis is on health, tranquility and unity. Unity of body and mind and unity between people. Let's unite, let's yoga! ​

 

Each class differs from the other with some poses that keep coming back to really teach you something in the long term,

such as the sun salutation.

To really feel yoga in your body, regular practice is essential. I again make the link with fitness. By doing strength training now and then you will not build muscle, but with weekly practice in combination with sufficient sleep and a healthy diet you can make a big change in a relatively short time. ​
